Out with the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV and dug up a rusty metal object. I knew pretty quick it wasn’t a coin or anything valuable — just another piece of junk metal.

But the hunt itself reminded me why I like this machine so much. The ability to toggle between All Metal Mode and Tone Mode on the fly is genuinely useful. You can hunt open in All Metal when you want maximum depth and sensitivity, then flip over to Tone Mode to get a better idea of what you’re looking at before you dig deeper.

All Metal ↔ Tone Mode toggle = one of the best everyday features on the Tracker IV.

It’s a small feature that makes a big difference when you’re out in the field dealing with trashy ground or mixed signals.

Not every find has to be a silver dime. Sometimes the real value is learning how your detector talks to you.
