I’m still getting to know the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV, and one of the first lessons is clear: pull tabs, nickels, and rings can sound remarkably similar.

In this short hunt I dug a pull tab, then right away scanned my own ring so you can hear the tones side-by-side. No editing tricks — just the raw audio from the machine.

That’s the reality of learning a detector, especially a straightforward one like the Tracker IV. The tones don’t always hand you a perfect answer. You have to dig, listen, compare, and slowly train your ear.

It’s part of the process, and honestly one of the more interesting parts. Every dig teaches you a little more about what the machine is trying to tell you.

If you’re also learning a new detector, hang in there. The sounds start to separate with time and practice.
