What is the Target ID for Silver and Gold?

Suggestion from a viewer to check the Target ID the Nokta Makro Simplex+ returns for silver and gold items. Good thing to know... looks like some gold items will be harder to identify!

Do This Before You Go Metal Detecting | Target ID Practice 👍👍

New metal detector from Kellyco arrived last week. Excited to take it out and find a coin or two. Found coins but probably should have familiarized myself with the Target IDs the Nokta Makro Simplex produces for various clad coins.

Video shows how I setup the detector, scan diffferent coins and other items, and basically train my ears and eyes to the Target IDs each produces.

Afterwards, I play a quick game of guess the object based on the sound and Target ID without looking at the object.

May be of interest to others who have purchased a metal detector recently!

Nokta Makro Simplex+ Break Even Quest | Round One

Round One begins the Break Even Quest where your's truly purchased a Nokta Makro Simplex+ to replace his 30 plus year old Fisher 1225x.

The quest is to determine how many metal  detecting hours it will take to find coins that equal to the price paid for the Nokta Makro Simplex+.

Round One went well. Have lots of "ear training" in the future as I learned how the detector sounds when a coin, pull tabs, other things are detected.

Luckily, the Nokta Makro Simplex+ is an easy to get started detector.

Round One yielded $1.21 in clad coins at two hours of metal detecting.

The price paid was $259.93 for the detector. Only $258.72 to go!

Do check back for Round Two!

Nokta Makro Simplex+ Delivered 👍👍👍| Break Even Quest Begins

Retired the Fisher 1225x and replaced it with the Nokta Makro Simplex+. Did a quick yard test to familiarize myself to the settings and sounds.

Then, searched a playground to begin the quest to the Break Even Point... point when I find the value in coins equal to the amount I paid for the detector.

  • Paid $259.93 for the Nokta Makro Simplex+
  • Round 1 kicked off the quest on April 9, 2022

Do check back on the results of Round 1!

Over 30 years of reliable service, time to retire the Fisher 1225X metal detector... actually, holding it as a backup metal detector. Great way to close out its use with lots of clad coins to include a silver dime!
