Metal Detecting Tot Lots | Clad Coins, a Key, a Token, a Pendant!

 Planned to search a sand volleyball court using a DIY sand scoop. But, the court was being used by others. Back up plan... metal detecting tot lots. In this case, the tot lot was an elementary school playground that had not been used for a while.

Managed 10 pennies, three dimes, a key, a baseball token, and pendant. Worked the tot lot working the immediate perimeter around the play set, and then worked outward to the playground perimeter. Fun times!

 More metal detecting for coins; returned to a city park playground that I searched several weeks ago in hopes of more coins would show given more people are out and about. Found 5 pennies and one nickel. Not bad... plus recalled that if you find nickels, then you are in the zone for gold rings! No rings this round, but 10 cents is not bad in change for a quick trip!

 More metal detecting for coins with the Fisher 1225X. This round I search a playground where I found a ring years before, and has luck would have it... found a ring again.

Not as nice as the other ring but still a great find! Plus found three quarters, a dime, and two pennies and a little toy car!

 Metal detecting for coins with the Fisher 1225X keeps on finding. This time I work a park playground that held a few coins - 6 dimes, 1 quarter, and three pennies... plus a "Pumpkin Pendant"!

Another round metal detecting for coins at a city park playground. Set the disc to 4 on the 1225X as suggested by another metal detector hobbyist in case there are gold rings to be found.

Since the trash has been light in the area playgrounds, planned to dig up everything. 

No rings but did find four dimes of which three were found in succession. Also, found a quarter and three pennies to make 68 cents.

Did find trash, too... but no worries, still a good metal detecting hunt!

Tough Coinshoot... Did Find 11 Cents!

Searched a city park that I had not been to in several years. Discovered lots of trash which I should have been aware as past notes showed the location was not as productive as others I have searched before Covid. No worries... found two coins - a dime and a penny to make 11 cents! Plus able to show the signal a piece of wires makes on the 1225X

Out and about again, dusting off the cobwebs on past lessons learned when searching with the old Fisher 1225X.  Posted earlier videos on tuning the 1225X and seven tips when using one that readily apply to similar metal detectors.

This next trip to a local park, I remembered two more tips:

• Determining Pennies vs Trash using the Discrimination setting.
• Estimating a target's depth by raising the coil in pinpoint mode.
