Chilly temps made for cold hands. Regardless, made time to do a little coinshooting today. Found clad coins, a silver-plated wedding ring, and a charm. Ring was worn with a lot of plating lost but was able to see a faint design. Cool finds....
Went out this morning and searched several playgrounds. More trash than treasure this round. Regardless of the amount of trash, did manage a few clad coins and things!
Decided to exercise the muscles and do some coinshooting this Thanksgiving Evening! Found a few clad coins and, low and behold, an Aggie Class gold ring with a diamond setting! No worries, able to return the ring to its owner. Good to see a fellow alumni reunited with an old friend....
Today's finds:
1 Quarter
1 Dime
3 Pennies
And, an Aggie Class Gold Ring with Diamond setting!
Made another evening foray to coinshoot a playground. Found clad coins, an earing, charms, and a ring! Also, found four Hotwheels cars and a large washer. Fun outing with the ring, real silver, being a great find this round.
Decided to metal detect a school playground that I had not visited in over 2 years. Was well after dark when I started searching the area. A lot of trash to contend with but managed to eek out Pennies and more! Fun but too short of an outing.
Decided to brave the colder temps and do some coinshooting in the dark. Had metal detected in the dark on a previous outing but this time brought a flashlight instead of relying on the dim park lights. Searched a city playground for about an hour; efforts yielded 17 coins and a button.
Checked out another schoolyard this afternoon; outing ended with 40 more coins! Coinshooting is fun but is even better when you find more coins than pulltabs. Even took the opportunity to work on pinpointing skills; going to need them when it comes to coinshooting in grass.
Stopped by a schoolyard this morning and had a blast coinshooting. By the end of the hour, managed to find over 70 coins, a token, a button, and a small pendant! Even picked up a guitar pick by sight. Going to keep this park in mind for future outings.
For a change of pace, decided to metal detect a local park after finishing a morning workout. The park sees a lot of activity throughout the week; however, no one is around in the early morning hours when I workout.
Found a lot of "trash" but was able to coinshoot through it and dig out a few clad coins.
Another quick trip to a city park results in more coins! Really like swing sets and their ability to produce pocket change. Nothing special with a few clad coins. Still not a bad outing given 20" of coinshooting.
Waited a few days to let a City Park we visited earlier "re-seed" itself with more coins. Wait was worth a few coins, a couple of tokens, and a bracelet charm! Not bad for 30" of coinshooting!
